A travel app to find reliable pet-friendly accommodations, restaurants, and more: Solo work. Executed an iterative design thinking process and implemented a high-fidelity interactive prototype to make travel with pets easier.
Pet owners are faced with many struggles when planning vacations with their pets.
My goal was to build a modern-day mobile app that is a one-stop and reliable source of information that helps them save time and plan their vacations.
This study was conducted with the objective of understand and identify the challenges and pain points of people that travel with their pets face during the planning phase.
THE BACKGROUND
The amount of information is immense, not always reliable or updated, leaving pet owners unsure in which source to trust, increasing the time they spend planning for trips just to make sure their pets will be safe while they are away from home vacationing.
THE WHY
Most pet owners that like to travel with my pet, want to plan my vacation, find pet-friendly accommodations and activities for them and four legged friend while away from home.
THE HYPOTESIS
BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY
Many pet owners consider their pets as part of the family, and many are considering taking them when they go on vacations.
In 2020, 311,149 pets were transported by airlines in the US.
One in ten pet parents has stashed their pooches in their luggage to get them into a hotel.

METHODOLOGY
I discovered that there was a high priority on finding reliable, consolidated, and updated one-stop source of information that make then save time when planning a vacation.
I conducted 1:1 interviews with five pet owners in order to discover what are the challenges they are facing and factors they consider when planning a pet-friendly trip.
